Resources for Converts: Common Catholic Prayers

Converting to Catholicism can be a tough decision, especially if family and friends disapprove.

And joining the Church is just the first step in the process of a lifetime. As my mom says, "We are called to convert every day" -- for cradle Catholics as well as converts.

When my fiancĂ©, Frank, decided to convert last winter and then entered the Church at Easter, he loved becoming Catholic, but he had a hard time at first adjusting to all the new prayers and customs.

To help him out, I created a "Rosary cheat sheet" and a list of "common Catholic prayers" (mostly ones that my family uses).

Do you have a friend who's a convert, or are you a convert yourself? You might find my list helpful (I hope you do!). You can find it on my blog over here.

What prayers or resources would you add to this list?

  1. This would have been so helpful last year as I began the process of converting. Thanks for sharing this list!

Thank you for stopping by CYW! Comments are always welcome, and we appreciate your thoughts. CYW is meant to be a community of like-minded Catholic women, so hearing from our readers always make us smile.

Disagreement is permitted, but we require that some sort of name be attached to the comment rather than simply leaving it anonymous and that charity always be maintained. And, though criticism of a post is acceptable, any derisive remarks about the personal lives of the contributors are considered unacceptable.

Comments are moderated for the sake of our young readers.

God bless!
